An afternoon in Port Perry
Today, my wife and I joined our son and his girlfriend at Palmer Park in Port Perry, Ontario to enjoy the waterfront and the downtown area of this charming town on the southwestern shore of Lake Scugog.
I noticed there was a bicycle repair station next to the bicycle lockup next to the waterfront. Now if only there were decent dedicated bicycle trails between Oshawa and Port Perry.
There was a really nice farmer’s market/flea market vibe going on.
The weather was beautiful.
We went for a walk downtown…
…and went into Mrs. Fields Bake House Cafe…
…where our son treated us each to a coffee and desert. It was wonderful, and we are thankful to him.
Sally and I opted for the Skor Cheesecake. What a sugar rush!
On our walk back, we got to enjoy the music of a four piece jazz band.
On our walk back through the park to the car, we noticed a bridge with locks placed on it, so our son decided to take our picture together with my camera.
On the drive back to Oshawa, we stopped at the White Feather Country Store, where we got to sit on the old tractors.
This was a trip down memory lane, where I recalled moments of my childhood spent with my cousins who used to live in Port Perry. It was good to see how much had changed in a very positive direction.
